D.A.R.E.
D.A.R.E. is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children from kindergarten through 12th grade how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives.
National Night Out
The Hackettstown Police Department participates in the National Night Out event, which is held on the first Tuesday in August. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
Project Medicine Drop Box
Class III Special Officers
The drop box is located at the Hackettstown Police Department. Residents may visit the Hackettstown Police Department at any time to dispose of their unused or excess medications anonymously.
Liquids, epi-pens and needles WILL NOT be accepted.

Class III Special Officer Mark Ramos is assigned to the high school and Class III Special Officer Matt Frauen is assigned to the middle school.
Their presence provides security and a direct point of contact with the police department to all students, faculty, and school staff.

The Hackettstown Police Department co-sponsors the annual parade with Mars Wrigley, the Hackettstown Business Improvement District , Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center and Centenary University.
